Expeditious, Félix Lebrun beat her Dang Qiu 3-0 in the round of 16 WTT Champions in Doha 2026 which takes place from January 7 to 11. He will face Tomokazu Harimoto in the quarter-finals.
Félix Lebrun was never worried in this round of 16 against an opponent he had not encountered since the WTT Champions Chongqing 2024. The German even led the debates with four victories to one against the Frenchman in the WTT tournament.
More Félix Lebrun quickly made his intentions clear. He started the match by imposing his rhythm offensively and defensively to the point of leading 9-0 and winning the first set 11-1 without giving the slightest chance to Dang Qiu. The first round only lasted 2 minutes and 30 seconds, which set the tone for the match.
As expected, this almost blank round woke up the German and the exchanges were closer. But Félix Lebrun remained dominant, notably thanks to his effects which constantly destabilized his opponent. The Frenchman won the second set 11-7.
The Montpellier player, in control of his ping, remained in control of the match in the third set. Capable of alternating, defending and winning rallies, he forced Dang Qiu to take a timeout at 5-2 as it seemed without a solution. If he managed to come back 7-7 following this break, the German once again lost 11-7.
During this one-sided match, Dang Qiu only had the advantage in the score three times, at the start of the second round. Félix Lebrunfor its part, will find Harimoto Tomokazu Saturday January 10 at 5:15 p.m. (French time) in the quarter-final.
