LEVICE – February is traditionally the time when the four best teams after half of the regular season of the Tipos Slovak Basketball League fight for the first trophy of the season – the Slovak Cup.

This year’s Final Four will take place in Levice (February 20-21) with the participation of the home Patriots, Nitra Blue Wings, BC Prievidza and BC Komárno. On the other hand, BC Slovan Bratislava defender (in the 2024/2025 season under the name Inter) will be missing.

The remaining two places were decided by the results of the 18th round. Slovan stumbled in the direct battle for participation in this event, losing at home to Komárno 71:87. In the previous year, they played in the final of the Czech-Slovak Cup and were the best Slovak team at this event.

“I’m going to be very direct because it was a game we went into knowing we had to win. We were going to be in the Final Four and it was a game that could have turned our season around. We fell where I knew we were going to fall – the character of some of the players. I’ll be more direct: I don’t know what’s going to happen after this result. I may go away. I’m taking it as normal. We’re going to talk to the general manager and the board. I’m available to management, but I’m convinced that at the Final Four – if we got there – we would have a chance,” Slovan’s coach Aramis Naglič stated for the official league website.

Prievidza finally joined the long-known duo of Levice and Nitra, when they beat Svit 78:60. The Final Four of the Slovak Cup is played in a knock-out manner, the name of the winner of this trophy for the 2025/2026 season will be known to the public on Saturday, February 21.

Patrioti Levice (1st) – BC Komárno (4th)
Nitra Blue Wings (2nd) – BC Prievidza (3rd)
