For the Baltimore Ravens, the playoffs begin in week 18. Lamar Jackson is on the line for the game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Wednesday’s training brought new insights.
The Baltimore Ravens are optimistic about their quarterback Lamar Jackson playing in the decisive AFC North game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night (2:20 a.m., in the live ticker).
Jackson, who is dealing with a bruised back, returned to training without restrictions on Wednesday for the first time in 12 days.
Jackson suffered the injury in the loss to the New England Patriots on December 21st when he was hit in the back with a knee. He sat out the following NFL game against the Green Bay Packers, which the Ravens won comfortably.
Baltimore Ravens: Will Jackson play with a protective vest?
Head coach John Harbaugh was positive: “I’m very optimistic that he will play on Sunday. We’ll see how it develops the rest of the week.” Jackson seems good, said Harbaugh, who also mentioned that the quarterback was considering options such as additional protection, such as a protective vest.
This season has been marred by numerous injuries for Jackson, including problems with his hamstring, knee, ankle, toe and now his back.
His performance fell accordingly: his average of 192.6 passing yards per game ranks 26th in the NFL, and his 28.3 rushing yards per game are the lowest in his eight-year career.
The winner of the Steelers (9-7) against Ravens (8-8) wins the AFC North title and thus the fourth seed in the AFC.
