Lacapelle-Biron Badminton: Fun & Local Club

When we approach the Capelaine multipurpose room on Wednesday evening, we hear laughter, cries of joy or disappointed “ohs”, the crunching of shoes on the floor.

We get closer: we see 3 stretched nets, small groups of 4, rackets in hand, running to try to regain the shuttlecock, with backhands, smashes worthy of badminton champions. However, this joyful group of around twenty faithful enthusiasts, who meet every Wednesday from 7 p.m., for six years, has only one philosophy, far from medals or exploits. “Just for fun”, happily relishes Patou Malby, the initiator of this fun and sporting activity. “For those who want to get back into sport slowly, without realizing it. A friendly leisure activity, which doesn’t take the hassle, just to let off steam. We take everyone, except the good ones,” he laughs.

Indeed, to throw this capricious shuttlecock, or catch it, you don’t need a dazzling technique, a perfect gesture, it’s just a well-being for the body and the soul. “Some come from far away, Moncabrier, Villeréal. They like this simple activity, which nevertheless works the muscles.” And they feel it the next day!

Started with 4 friends, this activity continues simply, with the only condition of leaving with a smile.
