Vinkeveen – Badminton is still seen by many people as a light-hearted game at the campsite, but those who really play the sport know how much technique, speed and tactics are involved. This is also evident in the regional competition, where the differences between clubs are increasing and teams regularly compete against significantly stronger opponents.
This season was no different for the Kwinkslag team from Vinkeveen, consisting of Mirjam, Jolanda, Marcel and Ton. However, despite the stiff competition, they managed to hold their own very well. The team ultimately finished in fourth place in the group.
In the last match, last Thursday, Kwinkslag came close to a victory. The decisive third set was narrowly lost, but the team could look back with satisfaction on a season in which fighting spirit and enjoyment of the game predominated.
It is still unknown whether the foursome will again face tough opponents in the coming spring competition. But one thing is certain for them: their enthusiasm for the sport remains as great as ever. “Badminton remains a lot of fun to do,” says the team.
