Kop Sud: LFP Disciplinary Action & Sanctions

AS Saint-Étienne was again sanctioned by the disciplinary committee of the Professional Football League (LFP) this Wednesday evening. Very late, the LFP sanctioning body published its decisions. Among them, a sanction against the lower part of the Jean Snella stand, the Kop Sud for “use of pyrotechnic devices and oral expressions noted“. As a reminder, at the start of the second half against Bastia last December, the South offered its second tifo of the evening with a message aimed at the disciplinary committee, which decided at the end of the year 2025 to sanction the stands of France in all directions, Saint-Étienne not escaping this repressive surge: “Stop forbidding us from everything, we can no longer disobey everything.”

Obviously, this did not please the same disciplinary committee which decided to close the Kop Sud of the Geoffroy-Guichard stadium for a suspended match: “17th day of Ligue 2 BKT: AS Saint-Étienne – SC Bastia on Saturday December 13, 2025. Behavior of AS Saint-Étienne supporters: use of pyrotechnic devices and oral expressions noted. Partial closure of the Snella stand for a suspended match.
