Hugo Borst finds it incomprehensible that the KNVB is not making a decision in the short term about the future of Ronald Koeman as national coach of the Dutch team. If it is up to the journalist, Koeman will make way for Peter Bosz after the World Cup, who has not yet extended his contract with PSV.
Bosz makes no secret of the fact that he would like to become a national coach. However, for the time being, the KNVB is waiting for Koeman, who does not want to announce his choice until next summer’s final tournament.
“I think it’s insane that the KNVB is saddling Dutch football with a huge problem,” Borst said in the interview. Eretribune van ESPN. “They bury their heads in the sand and wait until Koeman will tell us whether he wants to continue or not. I think it’s really insane.”
Chest cracks the KNVB. “You want to know how you will continue after the World Cup, right? It can’t be true that that will be determined by the current national coach?” he asks out loud. “Maybe he will continue, or maybe he cannot continue due to private circumstances.”
Borst believes that Koeman should make room. “If he becomes world champion, I would not continue. If he reaches the quarter-finals, that might be all the reason to say: boys, let’s stop it for God’s sake, because this makes little sense. Let him stop it nicely and pave the way for new input: Peter Bosz.”
For Borst it is clear that the PSV coach is the ideal national coach for the Dutch national team. “That applies to everyone, doesn’t it? If you now take a poll: who should become national coach? Then Peter Bosz will beat Koeman by a mile,” he concludes.
