Kilomètre Dehors: Toulouse Athlete Hub & Content Writing

It is a third place that wants to become essential for the urban sports community of Toulouse (Haute-Garonne). The “Kilometer outside” space, a hybrid café for the well-being of athletes but also offering coworking and snacks, has already attracted runners and cyclists since its opening in November, near Toulouse Capitole 1 University.

Showers, changing rooms, Pilates and fitness classes with a coach: everything is designed to make everyday life easier for those who like to do sports before work, at lunchtime or in the evening before going out. Supported by a collective of runners who wanted to create a place to meet up after the effort, the project was financed by a participatory campaign of 16,000 euros.

Catering, conferences, events…

“It’s a plural space to create connections, meet other athletes who want to relax, eat something after training,” explains Ngilan Louis, project leader and manager of “Kilomètre exterior” with three other associates. The idea was born from the observation that after a sports session with friends, we had no space to enjoy the post-run except outside. We want it to become a stimulating place for athletes where they can also eat and attend conferences and events.”

The “Kilometer Outside” also aims to address companies that want to unite around the practice of sport, rent its spaces to equipment manufacturers or offer activities highlighting movement. “We want to create added value by doing original activities such as discovering Toulouse while running or running and collecting waste,” explains Ngilan Louis in conclusion.
