His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Youth Council, President of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, was at the forefront of receiving the delegation of our national handball team upon their return to the homeland from the State of Kuwait yesterday, Friday, crowned with the Asian Cup championship for the first time, in a new historical achievement for Bahraini handball.

His Highness received the heroes in the ceremony hall at Bahrain International Airport, in the presence of Dr. Abdul Rahman Askar, CEO of the General Sports Authority, Fares Al Kooheji, Secretary General of the Olympic Committee, and a number of members of the Board of Directors of the Handball Federation.

During the official reception, His Highness expressed his great pride in the historic achievement achieved by the team, stressing that this coronation reflects the advanced level reached by Bahraini handball, and embodies the continuous support and attention that the athletes receive from the wise leadership.

His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa also praised the high fighting spirit shown by the players throughout the tournament, and the great work done by the technical and administrative staff, appreciating the efforts made by the Bahrain Handball Federation, headed by Ali Issa Ishaqi, which contributed to raising the name of the Kingdom of Bahrain high on the continental level, wishing the team continued success.

For their part, the team players expressed their thanks and gratitude to His Highness for this reception, stressing that this support constitutes an incentive to continue giving and achieve more achievements in the upcoming elections.
