The former player would have been murdered according to the coroner treating his case
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The former defensive lineman of the Philadelphia Eagles, Kevin Johnson, he died from “blunt force trauma to the head and stab wounds” at a homeless encampment, according to the medical examiner.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner reported that Johnson, 55, was pronounced dead Wednesday morning after being found unconscious. His death was classified as a homicide and is being investigated.

Investigators believe Johnson had been living at the camp at the time of his death. Friends said Johnson had health problems late in his life that contributed to his situation.
