The Kemperle badminton club took stock of the “Flying Tuesdays” organized in the Kerjouanneau gymnasium during the Christmas holidays. The concept of badminton evenings open to all has broken new records. “The two meetings respectively brought together 120 players then 180 players, confirming the growing enthusiasm around this event,” explains Quentin Tuaillon. These evenings also illustrated the richness and diversity of the audience present. “We had the participation of sportsmen from the Quimperlé basin, vacationers as well as many boarders from the sector. This gives a nice mix of profiles, clubs and backgrounds.”
The BCK victim of its success
A victim of this success, the BCK had to deal with large crowds which could have led to significant waiting times and a late end to the evening. “We apologize to the participants concerned but the event generally took place in a friendly and positive atmosphere,” adds Quentin Tuaillon. The club announces that other “Flying Tuesdays” will be organized each holiday period. “Adjustments will be put in place in order to improve the organization, the aim being to offer an adapted, inclusive and intergenerational sporting activity, encouraging sharing and meeting.”
A hearty 2026
The BCK is already welcoming players to its summer tournaments in 2026. The club will also have a year punctuated by major events, notably the Finistère youth championship on January 24 and 25, the masters veterans tournament on January 31 and February 1, the national tournament on April 18 and 19 and the French veterans championship on January 23, 24 and May 25. The club also hopes to experience the accession of its A team to Nationale 2.
