N’Golo Kante is nearing a return to Europe. According to Florian Plettenberg from Sky Sport the cheerful Frenchman has given his consent to Fenerbahçe.
Fenerbahce’s interest was already revealed earlier in the day. It was then announced that Kanté is in talks with the Turkish top club and that discussions with Ittihad Club are progressing.
It is now clear that the 34-year-old Kanté absolutely wants a transfer to Fenerbahçe. The former Premier League star wants to go to Istanbul and is prepared to make significant concessions.
Plettenberg writes that Kanté is impressed by the project at Fenerbahçe. Recent transfers, such as that of Mattéo Guendouzi, and the club’s successes and vision appeal to his imagination.
Now it is up to Fenerbahçe to reach a final agreement with Ittihad Club. Kanté is stuck in Jeddah until the end of the season, but would prefer to leave this winter.
There is no question of a ‘done deal’ yet, Plettenberg emphasizes. “There are still matters that need to be clarified, including with Ittihad Club.”
Kanté has been a permanent fixture in the French national team again for a relatively short time. Especially with a view to the 2026 World Cup, Kanté hopes to approach his old top form in the Süper Lig.
