We are moving towards the departure of Kader Meïté. Faced with the offensive of Al-Hilal, whose first two offers had been refused (25 then 30ME all inclusive), Stade Rennais finally agreed to sell their young scorer this winter. According to our information, an agreement was reached between the Saudi club and Rennes this Thursday for a transfer which should amount to 30 million euros plus 3 bonuses, accompanied by a resale percentage (10%).
At 18, Kader Meïté is one of the great promises of French football at the center forward position. In April 2025, he became the third youngest scorer for the Ille-et-Vilaine club (behind Camavinga and Doué), renowned for the quality of its training center. In 32 professional matches with his training club, he scored 5 goals, including 3 in Ligue 1 this season. The Rennes staff intended to extend its contract which ends in 2028. Discussions had started in this direction, but the assault on Al-Hilal suddenly reshuffled the cards.
The international Espoirs (3 caps) has given the green light to join the team coached by Simone Inzaghi. He will head to Saudi Arabia on Friday to sign a contract until 2029 (plus an optional year). His departure should push Breton leaders to explore the market in search of an offensive element before the transfer window closes on Monday February 2, at 8 p.m.
