Juventus vs Lecce: Serie A Shock as Juve Drops Points

Juventus had to settle for a draw against Lecce (1-1). The people of Turin are losing precious points in the race for Europe.

Juventus Turin got off to a bad start to 2026: the Old Lady missed a penalty and had to settle for a draw (1-1) at home against poorly ranked Lecce on Saturday during the 18th day of the Italian Championship.

Juve, which remained on three consecutive victories in Serie A, did not delight its fans, who were very upset at the final whistle.

It was led by Lecce who opened the scoring on a Piedmont defensive error in added time of the first period (45th+1).

Returning from the locker room, Weston McKennie, served by the always valuable Kenan Yildiz, equalized (49th) and the Bianconeri clearly took the upper hand.

Missed penalty

But former Lille player Jonathan David, lacking in confidence and regularly harassed by his own fans, missed a penalty (66th).

Lecce goalkeeper Wladimiro Falcone preserved his team’s draw in the final with a spectacular save on a shot from David (89th), before Yildiz found the left post in added time (90th + 4).

Juventus remains 5th in the standings with 33 points, five lengths (and one more match) behind AC Milan, winner in Cagliari (1-0) on Friday at the opening of this 18th day.
