“Scoring a goal at a moment like that, and also because the home crowd was shouting all kinds of things at me all the time, felt really good. Were they shouting funny things? No, of course not,” explained Hubner with a laugh to the De Limburger page.
“I sent a message to my fiancé, who is now in Indonesia, that I was going to score. I never said that before, because I almost never score. But yeah, it was a bit of a feeling.”
“He was crying and everything, he was so happy for me, because he knows how hard I worked for this, what I did and didn’t do for this.”
“Hopefully we can get married this summer in Bali. Being with him makes me very happy, and also because I can repay him with a goal now. There’s no better way to start the year, right?”
