After studying Anna’s real life
Investigative journalist Roberts Steinbergs initiated and produced the new documentary program Without traces. Anna Janson, which will hit the TV screen in February. He worked on the show for four years Prohibited technique, created the series The illegal tripbut now he has carefully studied the tragic story that almost all of Latvia lived with and hoped for a successful solution.
The series will reconstruct the events that began on November 1, 2023, when 34-year-old Anna Janson and her four-month-old daughter Louise disappeared. The baby was found dead the next day in the vicinity of the Great Ķemeri moor in Anna’s rented car. It was later found out that Louise died of sudden infant death syndrome.

The search for Anna continued long, painfully and sometimes it seemed hopeless. Jansone’s spouse Juris Evertovskis was actively involved in it, who now continues to raise the eldest daughter alone.
Anna was found dead seven months later.
“At this time, many people asked the question: “Where is Anna Janson?”, but no one asked: “Who is Anna Janson?”
Going through her life, I can confirm that Anna was a super smart, very strong, intelligent and rational woman who was broken by mental health problems. What happened in Latvia set many things in motion. A study was conducted on postpartum depression,” explains Steinberg, why he decided to create this story.
“Juris deserves a lot of respect”
Roberts does not hide that gaining the trust of the relatives of a tragically deceased person is a serious challenge. “I had to meet with Juri several times and convince him that my intentions were good. That I am not looking for clicks and will try to do everything respectfully,» he admits. “In my eyes, Juris is an abnormally strong person who has gone through an incomprehensible tragedy, which was also discussed publicly. Although Yura’s name has changed into different intonations, he still remains strong in spirit, with a cool mind and a rational mind. The man who continues to raise Anna’s daughter. He deserves a lot of respect,” says Roberts.
They spent long hours talking about Anna. “My longest conversation with Juri was more than four hours. It’s probably the longest interview I’ve ever had in my career as a journalist,” says Steinberg.
Do not want unnecessary attention

“I was invited to the presentation of the film, but I decided not to go there because I was afraid that I would be questioned. For now, I don’t want to socialize so actively,” in a conversation with Private Life Juris Evertovskis, the spouse of the deceased Anna, has been discovered.
While he used to regularly share his thoughts on social media, he hasn’t been doing so for some time now. Roberta Juris speaks highly of the creator of the series. “I think we established a good contact. I agreed to answer the questions he asked because I had the impression that Robert would tell everything correctly. I try not to interfere in all that. He asks or clarifies something from time to time. I haven’t seen anything from the film yet,” said Juris.
When asked how he lives after Anna’s departure, he says: “Everything is quite normal. Nothing worth mentioning happened. Just a normal everyday life. Time does not heal. Where do I draw strength from? I don’t have any meaningful answer.”
