Jan Seipel: BP Profiler Dies – BP News

Jan “Janne” Seipel, a great scorer and strong BP profile, has sadly passed away at the age of 79. Janne was inducted into the club’s Hall of Fame in 2018 and is one of the most significant profiles in BP’s history.

Janne came to senior football in BP from Ängby SK in 1965, and then played in BP’s men’s team for about 12 seasons, during the period 1965-74, and also returned to BP as a “homecoming” in 1979. In total, there were 178 games and 62 goals in the red-black BP shirt. Something that places Janne in place no. 6 in BP’s marathon table of goals scored in the men’s team. During these years, BP advanced in the series system, from the Stockholmsserien class I Norra, to the national series Division II Norra.

Janne was also a legendary leader in BP and held several different roles in different eras. Among other things, he was team leader for the men’s team between 1986 and 1988, when he fought together with Thomas Lyth, who was then the responsible coach in BP. With his extensive career, both as a player and manager for a long time, Janne was a very well-known and respected profile within Stockholm football.

BP remembers Janne Seipel with great gratitude and warmth. Our thoughts go out to family, friends and all who had the privilege of working and sharing the BP heart with him.
