Jaap Stam will stop as head coach of DOS Kampen, but will become technical manager at the amateur club. Kampen, which plays in the first division, announced this on their website on Monday. Stam will no longer be able to fulfill his role as trainer next season due to other commitments.
The now 53-year-old former footballer played in the youth team at DOS Kampen between 1988 and 1992 and then switched to FC Zwolle, where he made his debut as a professional footballer. In 2024, the former defender of PSV, Ajax and Manchester United, among others, returned to the amateurs Kampen as head coach.
Stam will now become the club’s technical manager and will remain closely involved with the first team. He will regularly attend training to support the selection and staff. In addition, the former footballer will be involved in the club’s technical policy. On Kampen’s website you can read that Ramin Ezzat, Raymon Beuling and Emiel Diender (part of the technical staff) are taking over many responsibilities.
