Memphis is studying trade offers for its leader.
The Memphis Grizzlies are exploring trade offers for two-time All-Star point guard Ja Morant, ESPN reported Friday. According to the network, several teams inquired about Morant ahead of the NBA’s Feb. 5 trade deadline, with the Grizzlies favoring draft picks and young players in return.
Morant, 26, is eligible to sign a contract extension of up to three years and $178 million this summer. He’s averaging 19.0 points and 7.6 assists in 18 games (all as a starter) in his third season of a five-year, $197 million contract. His contract runs until the end of the 2027-2028 season.

He is averaging 22.4 points and 7.4 assists in 325 career games (323 starts) since being selected by Memphis second overall in the 2019 NBA draft after playing at Murray State.
