Ivory Coast won this Tuesday against Burkina Faso and will face Egypt in the quarter-finals of the African Cup of Nations.
Easy. Ivory Coast, defending champion, qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup in Morocco by easily defeating Burkina Faso 3-0 on Tuesday in Marrakech.
The Elephants will challenge Mohamed Salah’s Egypt in the next round, Saturday in Agadir, while all the contenders for the title will find themselves in a table with tempting posters. Amad Diallo opened the scoring after a clear collective action, concluded by a raid in the Stallions area (1-0, 20th).

Yan Diomandé doubled the lead after half an hour, perfectly launched by Diallo, leaving no chance for Hervé Koffi, the solid Burkinabe goalkeeper (2-0, 32nd). Then Bazoumana Touré countered and alone completed the Ivorian success at the end of the match (3-0, 87th).
The only downside for the Emerse Faé players: they will have to do without Christ Inao Oulai, 19, their metronome in midfield, suspended against Egypt for having received two yellow cards in the two previous meetings.
