Italian Cycling Lineup & Race Results

The women’s singles qualifying draw for the 2026 Australian Open has been drawn. Six Italians are at the start, two of whom are among the top seeds.

Lucia Bronzetti, number 2 in the draw who in Melbourne reached at most the second round in the main draw (2022, 2025) makes her debut against the former Spanish Top 100 Aliona Bolshova, who failed to show continuity of results after the surprising round of 16 at Roland Garros 2019.

Lucrezia Stefanini, seed number 26, returns to Melbourne where in 2023 she made her debut and won her first match in the main draw of a Slam, against the German Tatjana Maria. The 27 year old from Carmignano will face the Dutch Eva Vedder who has never won a match, not even in qualifying, in the Slams.

Also at the start are Nuria Brancaccio, Silvia Ambrosio, Camilla Rosatello and Jessica Pieri. Here is the overview of the first round matches of the Italians:
