Alimerka Oviedo Baloncesto visits Inveready Gipuzkoa tomorrow (6 p.m., Amenabar Arena, Vinx TV, LaLiga+) in the dispute of the sixteenth day of the Primera FEB 25/26. And it does so with the confirmed absences of the captain, Raúl Lobaco, the Aragonese being complicated by the blow he received a week ago, and Calvin Hermanson, recovering, for his part, from the impact that sent him to the hospital during the match against Fibwi Palma.
Gipuzkoa, for its part, will enter the duel with the losses of Zubizarreta and Motos and the doubt of Arroyo. Losses, then, for both teams that manage in the middle zone of the table having differed in their league trajectories to date. While the OCB has been playing matches marked on the calendar (with the defeats in Zamora and Cartagena in the bag), Sergio García’s team had a hard time getting started to chain, in one go, seven consecutive victories, achieving the second best streak in the open league to date.
What they both agree on is that they are one of the best defenses in the league and their voracity for rebounds, so the game will begin to be managed from closing second options and creating rhythm. The one proposed by Javi Rodríguez is much happier and the one that interests Gipuzkoa is much more elaborate.
In that sense, the OCB will have to monitor the big men: Ngom, Nicolau and the four Georgian Korsantia in addition to the gunpowder that the well-known Hanzlik, Maiza and Tate can provide.
This being the case and with a victory difference between both in favor of the locals, the exit, despite the difficulties, is presented as an opportunity for the OCB to climb to the playoff when there is one match left to close the first round. But that will be another story, next Saturday at the Palacio de los Deportes against Melilla Ciudad del Deporte. Tickets can be purchased here.
