IJsselweide Park: College Visit Guide

The council visited the IJsselweide Sports and Meeting Park in Ulft where they were informed about the recent developments in the park and the sports hall.

Board members of the IJsselweide Sport and Meeting Park Foundation spoke enthusiastically about the great potential and significance of the park for sports, meetings and quality of life. There are all kinds of sports clubs involved, both indoor and outdoor sports. For indoor sports, consider, for example, handball, korfball, badminton and volleyball clubs. And in outdoor sports, the hockey club, football clubs, Atletico and cycling club. In addition, all kinds of social organizations participate. The best known are Estinea, Freewheel, scouting, Kivada, Humankind, Sport ID, Graafschap College, various primary schools and physiotherapists.

Village deal to realize plans

The Foundation has great plans for the IJsselweide and talked about their ambitions, including increasing liveliness, expanding the range of sports and meetings and preparing a village deal. The village deal can provide a (financial) start to the implementation of the plans. Residents of Oude IJsselstreek can also contribute ideas to these plans. A questionnaire will soon be distributed for this purpose via the municipal communication channels such as the website, social media and the Municipal News.

Mayor Laura Werger thanked the board members of the foundation for their enthusiasm and infectious vision for the sports and meeting park.
