The negotiations between IFK Gothenburg and Benjamin Brantlind, 17, have stalled.
– We have tried and tried, but obviously we have not been able to reach each other, says Blåvitt’s sports director Hannes Stiller.
At the same time, the super talent is stopped from doing interviews during the training camp in Portugal.

There have been many trips around IFK Gothenburg’s giant Benjamin Brantlind during the winter. Both Expressen and GP has reported that Blåvitt has been close to agreeing on a new contract with the 17-year-old.
– My agents are talking to the club and they have been negotiating for quite a while now, but I don’t know very much. But as I have always said: Everyone knows where my heart is and that I love Blåvitt, Brantlind said when Expressen met him at the training camp in Spain almost three weeks ago.
But now the negotiations have completely stalled.
– We have decided to cancel them now after trying to find solutions for quite some time. We’ve tried and tried to reach something, but obviously we haven’t been able to reach each other. Therefore, we have chosen to suspend the negotiations, says IFK Göteborg’s sporting director Hannes Stiller.

“Made to focus on the wrong things”
He adds:
– We want to give him peace and quiet. There have been a lot of questions for quite a long time about him and we feel that he has had to focus on the wrong things. It is better for him to focus on football.
According to Expressen’s information, a major reason why the negotiations have now stalled is that the agents demand a high percentage in the event of a possible transfer to a foreign club.
– I don’t want to go into that, but I can state that in a negotiation there are two parties and we have not managed to arrive at any type of solution. Then it will be like this this time, says Stiller.
Could the negotiations be resumed later?
– I don’t want to go into that now, but I can state that we have canceled them. That’s where we stand now.

“Need to move on”
Then you have to sell him this winter if you’re going to get paid for him?
– No, I don’t know if we need to do that. I haven’t thought about it, but at the moment I can only state that we haven’t reached each other.
According to Expressen’s information, IFK Gothenburg has offered Benjamin Brantlind a lucrative contract.
– I don’t want to go into what is good and what is not good, but as I said, I can only state that we have not reached any kind of agreement. They try to find solutions in negotiations and we have not succeeded in doing that in this case, which has been going on for quite some time.
– For our sake, we need to move on and continue working on squad building and other issues, continues Hannes Stiller.
IFK Göteborg is on the Algarve coast from today until February 7 and, in addition to training, will play two matches: Rosenborg BK (February 2) and SK Artis Brrno (February 6).
Benjamin Brantlind, whose contract runs through 2026, will not do any interviews during camp.
“For your information before the camp, we agree with Benjamin Brantlind’s representatives that he will be allowed to focus all his attention on football now and that he will not do any interviews for the time being. We hope for your understanding of this,” announces Blåvitt’s communications manager Marcus Modéer.
