CYCLOCROSS | 02/01/2026 | 16:02

Only one will remain: Van der Poel!!! Snow, cold, falls for the Zilvermeercross in Mol, Belgium, which took place in a real white blizzard that put the athletes’ resistance to the test. Van der Poel and Van Aert, the protagonists announced on the eve of the race, played their part to the fullest, overtaking all their opponents one after the other and transforming the race into a spectacular duel.
When everything pointed to a sprint conclusion between the two phenomena, here’s the twist: Van Aert slips and ends up on the ground with two laps to go. The Belgian tries to restart, but the blow is heavy and forces him to retire. At that point the race becomes a solitary ride: Van der Poel flies towards his eighth consecutive success, once again imposing his rule in the mud and snow. The Dutch Highlander triumphs in front of a cold but delirious audience, confirming himself as the dominator of the season so far. Behind the world champion, the European champion Aerts and the Spaniard Orts Lloret close.
