The European Handball Championships will take place in three countries from January 15th to February 1st. 24 teams take part, the final takes place in Herning, Denmark. Defending champions are France.

For the most difficult handball title: the European Championship. Europeans have won all the World Cups and Olympic victories, and more teams from Europe play at the European Championships than at the World Cup. That makes a European Championship victory more valuable. This time the game will be played in Norway, Sweden and Denmarkthe final weekend will take place at the Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning. Does that sound familiar? The trade fair city in Jutland also hosted the World Cup final in 2025. But don’t be afraid of monotony in the Danish no man’s land. A visit to Herning is also worth it because of the spectacular museum for contemporary art (white exposed concrete!). And it’s cozy everywhere there anyway. Unless you have to play against them in handball.
