Haiyan 2025 Badminton: Top Domestic Players to Compete

The final of the Hai Yen 2025 badminton tournament will take place over three days, from January 16 to 18, at TheB sports complex (Ho Chi Minh City). This tournament, one of the largest, most professional and best organized on the current amateur circuit, officially began on the morning of January 17.

The 2025 final features a total prize pool of more than 400 million VND, under the direction of chief referee Nguyen Quang Kieu Khuyen. The event also attracted many top professional tennis players, such as Pham Hong Nam, Dinh Phuong Hong, Luong Tuan Huy, Nguyen Xuan Manh and Vu Thi Chinh, as well as influencers, TikTok stars and outstanding amateur athletes of all ages.

Following the success of previous seasons, this year’s final brought together more than 800 athletes from 90 clubs, both inside and outside the province, for a total of more than 1,000 registered participants. This impressive scale confirms the appeal of the Hai Yen badminton tournament to the amateur community, not only in the South of the country, but also nationally.

The tournament brought together 800 athletes, including many national-level professional tennis players.

The tournament is organized every year and includes three qualifying rounds and a final phase. To advance to the final phase, athletes must obtain a minimum of 1,360 points during the qualifying rounds in 2025, according to the ranking established by the organizing committee. This formula ensures a professional level and maintains the motivation of participants throughout the season.

One of the strong points is the increased use of technology in the organization of the tournament. From 2026, it will implement a standardized and modernized roadmap, in coordination with professional teams, in order to optimize the drawing of lots, the composition of groups, planning and updating of results in real time. The digitalization of data will not only improve the transparency and precision of tournament management, but also provide a basis for statistical analysis and evaluation of the level of athletes, with a view to the sustainable development of badminton.

Sharing his thoughts on the tournament, Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Bao Tri, Head of the Organizing Committee, said: “We hope that this tournament will not only be a simple competition, but also become a platform to create connections, spark passion and contribute to building an increasingly professional and sustainable amateur badminton community in Vietnam. »
