The start of the 37th CNGT tournament in Grandvillars, which will last until February 8, was given this Thursday evening. Well-established, the Grandvillars tournament will not change a recipe that has already proven itself. Both tables are listed on the CNGT calendar (national circuit of major tournaments), the men’s event, with its 5,650 euros prize money, being labeled “two stars” while the women’s event is classified in the “one star” category (3,060 euros prize money).
The list of main seeds has not yet been established. And we do not know, at this time, if William Jucha, the title holder, will be part of the contingent of the French Top 100 present on the Grandvellaise carpet. Victorious in 2025 and finalist in Belfort in November, Emmanuelle Salas (Annecy-le-Vieux) aspired to slow down in 2026. It is therefore unlikely to see the Thononaise again in Franche-Comté this year…
