Gary O’Neil: Strasbourg’s Revival Under New Management

The Alsatians plunged FC Metz a little further into crisis by winning this Sunday, for the 18th day (2-1).

For the first time on Gary O’Neil’s bench in Ligue 1, Strasbourg did not miss this Sunday by dominating Metz (2-1) at Meinau. A success – acquired thanks to goals from Moreira (12th) and Godo (43rd) while Messin Hein had a time equalized on a penalty (24th) – which allows the Alsatian team to regain its 7th place in the ranking ahead of Toulouse.

Metz, for its part, remains bottom of Ligue 1, which could push the Lorraine leaders to part ways with their coach, Stéphane Le Mignan. The future of the latter already appeared to be very threatened after the catastrophic elimination suffered last weekend in the Coupe de France against Montpellier, resident of Ligue 2 and clear winner in Metz (0-4).
