The German player reported the theft after returning from a match against Como; Authorities are investigating the incident.
The German forward Niclas Fullkrug, 33 years old and recently joined AC Milan from the English West Ham, was the victim of a robbery in the hotel room where he was temporarily staying in Milan. The thieves stole jewelry and watches valued at 500,000 euros from the room’s safe, taking advantage of the fact that the player does not yet have a permanent residence in the city.
The theft occurred while Fullkrug was attending the training camp for the match against Como 1907, which was played on Thursday at the Giuseppe Sinigaglia Stadium, and was detected upon his return to the hotel on Friday. According to Italian media, the forward realized the theft when he opened the safe and noticed that the valuables had disappeared.
After discovering the theft, Fullkrug filed a complaint with the competent authorities, who went to the room to collect evidence, take fingerprints and review the recordings from the hotel’s security cameras. Investigations seek to identify those responsible for the theft.
The incident adds to the adaptation of the German player in his new club, since Fullkrug arrived in this winter market from West Ham and is still establishing his residence in Milan, which would have facilitated the vulnerability of his belongings.
Regarding his sporting participation, Fullkrug has played minutes in the four games since his arrival at Milan, starting in the draw against Fiorentina on January 11. For the match against Como, he was a doubt due to a foot injury, but he was finally able to play the last 30 minutes, contributing to his team’s 1-3 victory.
The theft has sparked concern among the club’s supporters and has highlighted the security risks faced by newly arrived players who do not yet have permanent accommodation in the city.
The Italian authorities continue the investigation to find those responsible and recover the stolen valuables, while Fullkrug continues to concentrate on his adaptation to AC Milan and the team’s upcoming commitments.
