Füllkrug celebrates a win on his debut for Milan
A few hours after the official announcement of Niclas Füllkrug’s move to AC Milan, he made his first appearance. The striker comes on as a substitute in the win in Cagliari.
Niclas Füllkrug celebrated his first win in his first appearance for AC Milan. The national soccer player came on as a substitute for goalscorer Rafael Leao in the 1-0 (0-0) draw at Cagliari Calcio in the 69th minute. Rafael Leao scored the decisive goal in the 50th minute.
Thanks to the success at the start of the 18th matchday, AC took the lead in the Serie A table ahead of their Milan city rivals Inter. Inter can regain first place with a win on Sunday against FC Bologna.
Milan is loaning Füllkrug, but also has a purchase option
A few hours before the game, Füllkrug’s move from West Ham United to Milan was officially announced. The 32-year-old center forward will initially be loaned out until the end of the season. As the traditional Italian club announced, the agreement with West Ham United also includes a purchase option.
Details were not known. The Premier League club also said nothing about this in its statement about Füllkrug. Füllkrug’s move to Italy had been apparent for a few days.

Füllkrug moved from Borussia Dortmund to London for almost 30 million euros after the 2024 European Championship. Injury problems and two coaching changes at West Ham prevented his breakthrough in the Premier League. VfL Wolfsburg is also said to have been interested in Füllkrug.
