Europe must Donald Trump threaten to boycott the World Cup. Jürgen Hardt was the first to say the actually unthinkable. If Donald Trump annexes Greenland, this would have to be examined, said the Union’s foreign policy spokesman Bild. He stays in the conditional because he doesn’t yet want to believe that Trump is capable of this monstrosity. But so far Trump isn’t backing down. Hardt’s thoughts should therefore be thought through to the end. His theory must become practice.
Not that this could bring Trump to his senses, as Hardt hopes. But a boycott threat could help politically in this crucial week. Trump is using tariffs against the Europeans because he knows they hurt. Europe’s Economy also depends on the USA.
