England football legend Kevin Keegan has been diagnosed with cancer after being admitted to hospital.

Kevin Keegan shone as a player especially in the FC Liverpool and Newcastle teams. After the end of his career, he worked as a coach and led the English national team for two years.
In a devastating statement, the former Liverpool FC star’s family have confirmed he will undergo treatment for the cancer he was diagnosed with after a recent visit to hospital.
The former England striker and national team coach from 1999 to 2000 was recently admitted to hospital due to ongoing problems with abdominal pain, according to a statement cited by several British media outlets.
“These tests revealed a diagnosis of cancer for which Kevin will undergo treatment,” the statement read. “Kevin is grateful to the medical team for their intervention and continued care.”

Keegan’s family subsequently asked for privacy and confirmed that they would not comment further on the matter during treatment.
Widely known by the popular nicknames ‘King Kev’ or ‘Mighty Mouse’, Keegan is regarded as a club legend by both Liverpool and Newcastle fans after enjoying successful careers at both clubs in the top flight.

In 592 games during his club career, Keegan scored 204 goals and scored 21 strikes in 63 games for England. Keegan played 322 games for Liverpool, scoring 100 goals and providing another 88 assists.
With Liverpool, he won the European Champions Cup (predecessor to the Champions League) in 1977, as well as three English titles. He also showed unprecedented efficiency in Newcastle, for which he scored 49 goals in 85 matches. Newcastle’s official account shared the statement on social media. “King Kev.
