Flight Delay: Passengers Cause 30-Hour Disruption

The incident happened on the first Saturday of January just before the flight took off. A group of passengers started having unspecified problems and the crew was unable to solve them by themselves. She therefore requested the assistance of the police, reports the Independent server. The plane did not leave at the scheduled time.

easyJet said it takes incidents like this seriously and will not tolerate disruptive behaviour. “Unfortunately, this delay resulted in the crew reaching the maximum number of hours required by safety regulations, forcing the flight to be rescheduled for the next day,” the airline said, adding that customers were provided with alternative accommodation and meals.

“The safety and comfort of customers and crew is always easyJet’s highest priority. Although this incident was beyond our control, we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused.”

Last year, there were a number of similar incidents that affected the smooth flow of the flight. For example, in December, a Chinese Spring Airlines passenger argued with the crew for two hours because he was not seated next to his girlfriend, until the pilots decided to turn the plane around, return to Japan and hand the passenger over to the Japanese police.
