Flaminio Project: 3-Year Timeline – Is It Realistic?

“Three years to start construction might be a reasonable time.” During the celebrations for the 126th anniversary of the Biancoceleste club at the Parco dei Daini in Villa Borghese, the president of Lazio, Claudio Lotito – pressed by journalists – made a point about the new Flaminio stadium.

“Next week we will present the contract outline – he states – The company has no economic problems, our investment is 430 million, we will give it in a single solution. The surface right will then allow us to own the property for 99 years”.

The president of Lazio says he is sure of the validity of the project: “I found an architectural solution that has been defined as brilliant, because we will keep the famous basin while safeguarding it, so there will be no problems with constraints. I have to thank the Mayor because he immediately appreciated and understood the importance of a conservative renovation, which does not alter the architectural appearance and improves the capacity”.

To those who ask him if the first stone will be laid within three years, Lotito replies: “I don’t want to make predictions but three years is a reasonable time. Let’s hope that after that there will be no slowdowns and it will close as soon as possible.”

After completing the documentation, the bureaucratic process will begin. “We will evaluate the project with interest and attention – states the mayor of Rome, Roberto Gualtieri – We hope for the possibility that Lazio, like Roma, will also have its own stadium”.
