Flamengo officially presented goalkeeper Andrew, 24, who was at Gil Vicente, in Portugal. Well articulated, the archer revealed that it took him a while to believe that coach Filipe Luís and football director José Boto were at his former club’s match to watch him.
“I didn’t really believe it because we can’t imagine that Flamengo, with the size it has, will send its director and its coach there to analyze a player who is on an inferior team. We always hope that Flamengo, with the history it has, the size it has, will look for players that people hear more about. But this shows that Flamengo also always keeps an eye on all players, regardless of whether they have a name or not”, he said, adding:
When I really found out it was on Tuesday. I had two days off and I disconnected 100% from it because I didn’t want to lose focus on my work. Then I went back to work and talked to my managers and they said it was concrete, but I still didn’t believe it (laughs), not taking away the credibility of my managers. I only really believed I was at Flamengo when I started training and I thought: ‘the dream I saw today is a real thing, thank you’
