Figeac Badminton: Club Success & Recent Form

For the 38e season, the Club Badminton Figeacois (CBF) continues its activity in a good dynamic, always with sport and conviviality as its motto. Open to the practice of badminton for leisure or competition (affiliated with the FFBad)the club welcomes this year more than a hundred members, from the Minibad category (6-9 years old) to veterans, Cosec gymnasium has Figeac.

Michel Fourgous Jimenez, co-president of the clublooks back at the first half of the season. “In terms of numbers, we are a little less numerous than last year, but still more than a hundred licensees this season. The atmosphere is super pleasant. If there is still room among the adults, we are full at the youth level (24 players). There is a good dynamic. The level is progressing. We have good participation and results in tournaments. Two teams play interclubs in departmental divisions 1 and 2, with two victories already. We are also very happy with the new gymnasium surface, which is more pleasant for playing.”

Training takes place at the Cosec gymnasium on Mondays (youth 6:45 p.m. – 8 p.m. / adult free play 8 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.), Thursdays (minibad 5 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. / youth 6:15 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. / adults 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. / adult free play 8:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.), and Sunday (free play for everyone 10 a.m.-12 p.m.). Please note that from Thursday, January 22, two of the five courts are open for adult free play from 7:30 p.m.

They are taught by adult players. Michel Fourgous Jimenez, also co-president of the Departmental badminton committee since this year, has been providing supervision alongside Matthieu Gardou, co-president of the club and holder of the volunteer coaching diploma since June 2025. They are supported by Lisa Boissy, Pauline Chaintron, and Cédric Meilhan.

Sports program

On the activity side, the club will receive on Sunday January 24, 2026 at Cosec a minibad tray and departmental detection. Saturday, February 28 is scheduled for a friendly tournament (on registration) with the clubs of Maurs, Livinhac-le-Haut, Capdenac, Cajarc, Lacapelle-Marival, and Cransacwho welcomed the Figeac players during the gymnasium work period in June 2025. The day will conclude with a delicious cheese soup, offered by the club.

The spring tournament (official FFBad) takes place on 21 and 22 mars. The 110 places available (online registrations) were filled in ten minutes! Around twenty players are on the waiting list. The club also plans to go on a hike at the end of the year, on June 14.
