Figeac Badminton: Club Profile & Local Charm

For its 38th season, the Badminton Figeacois Club continues its activity with good momentum, always with sport and conviviality as its motto.

Sunday January 24 at Cosec hosts a minibad stage and departmental detection. On February 28, a friendly tournament upon registration is planned, with the clubs of Maurs, Livinhac-le-Haut, Capdenac, Cajarc, Lacapelle-Marival, and Cransac, who welcomed the Figeac players during the period of work on the gymnasium in 2025. The day will conclude with a cheese soup, offered by the club. The spring tournament (official FFBad) will take place on March 21 and 22. The club is also planning a hike at the end of the year, on June 14.

Michel Fourgous-Jimenez, co-president, looks back on the first half of the season. “On the staff side, we are still more than 100 licensees from minibad (6-9 years old) to veterans. The atmosphere is very pleasant. If there is still room among the adults, we are full at the youth level (24 players). gymnasium, more pleasant for the game”.

Training takes place at the Cosec gymnasium on Mondays (youth: 6:45 p.m. – 8 p.m. / adult free play: 8 p.m. – 10:30 p.m.), Thursdays (minibad: 5 p.m. – 6:15 p.m. / youth: 6:15 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. / adults: 7:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. / adult free play: 8:30 p.m. – 10 p.m. 30), and Sunday (free play for all: 10 a.m.-12 p.m.). Please note that from Thursday January 22, two of the five courts are open for adult free play from 7:30 p.m.

Michel Fourgous-Jimenez, also co-president of the departmental badminton committee since this year, provides supervision alongside his counterpart Matthieu Gardou, holder of the volunteer coaching diploma since June 2025. Assisted by Lisa Boissy, Pauline Chaintron, and Cédric Meilhan.
