Feyenoord and Go Ahead Eagles were eliminated from the competition phase of the Europa League on Thursday evening. FC Utrecht was already that way before the last match day.

Because PSV and Ajax failed to reach the next round in the Champions League yesterday, AZ is now the only remaining Dutch club in a European tournament. The Alkmaarders will play in the knockout phase of the Conference League, the third European level, from February.

Due to the European disaster week, the Netherlands has lost sixth place to Portugal in the important coefficient rankings, which almost certainly means that the Premier League will only have one direct ticket for the Champions League from the summer of 2027.

Feyenoord needed a win against Real Betis in Seville to have a chance of reaching the next round of the Europa League, but lost 2-1.

Even before half time, the Rotterdam team was 2-0 behind, partly due to the outstanding former Ajax player Antony. The Brazilian scored the opening goal after just over fifteen minutes with a shot in the crossbar and then provided a superb assist for the 2-0. In the second half, Casper Tengstedt scored against on behalf of Feyenoord.
