Facts about Felicia Saving
23-year-old Felicia Saving was born on August 23, 2002 in Nacka just outside the central parts of Stockholm city. She received her football upbringing in the local club Boo FF but at the age of eleven she took the step over to AIK’s youth academy. During the 2018 season, Felicia was the team captain of the AIK team that won SM gold in the F16 series – this after defeating Jitex BK by a whopping 8-1 in the final. She would also play a decisive role on the way to the final place – when she helped the team to an 8-0 victory with her two goals in the quarter-final against Torsångs IF.
16-year-old Felicia left the club after the golden season when she took the step over to Hammarby. The debut in Elitettan would come on April 13, 2019 – and she would then be a regular in the starting eleven for the next two seasons. Felicia’s first goal at senior level came in the sixth round of Elitettan 2019 – when she scored the 3-1 goal in the match between Hammarby IF and Borgeby in the 81st minute of the match.
Before the 2021 season, the transfer load would go west and to Eskilstuna United. On April 18, 2021, the debut in the OBOS Damallsvenskan came when Eskilstuna United took on Kristianstad at home. The final score was 1–1 and Felicia played the entire match. There were then two successful seasons in Eskilstuna, where she was in the starting eleven in the majority of the matches before the next club change would take place.
On December 2, 2022, it became official that Felicia agreed with the women’s Swedish team Linköping FC on a two-year contract. There would be a total of 19 games in the club. She would also make her debut on the international stage when, on September 6, 2023, she had to jump into the meeting against Arsenal in the Champions League qualifier.
On December 7, 2023, it was clear that Felicia was back in AIK as she and the club agreed on an agreement that runs until and including December 31, 2025. The debut came in the first competitive match of the year when Gnaget faced Kif Örebro in the first round of the Swedish Cup group stage 2023/2024. Felicia with jersey number six was there from the start and was entered into the protocol after eight minutes when she was awarded a yellow card. The away team would have the final say before the half-time break when Ashley Barron scored the lead. It was, however, a happy ending for Felicia in her debut, thanks to Beata Olsson equalizing in the 72nd minute of the match where Adelisa Grabus then decided the match with ten minutes left of regular time (2–1). Felicia started the 2024 season by being in the starting eleven in nine matches in a row, AIK had a difficult start to the series, however, and it took until the fifth round before they took their first victory, this one against Trelleborgs FF away from home (1–5). Her first goal for the club came on 2 November of the same year in the home meeting with Trelleborgs FF. Beata Olsson ensured that Gnaget was in a two-goal lead after the first half and in the 60th minute of the match Maja Johansson extended the lead when she scored AIK’s third of the day. Felicia, who had started on the bench, had to change the pitch after 77 minutes played, and five minutes later she was in front and made the result 4-0.
Felicia continued to get playing time in 2024 and 2025, but on July 28, 2025, disaster struck when, during a training session at Skytteholms IP, she sustained an injury that later turned out to be a cruciate ligament injury. She has since had surgery and is now rehabilitating to be back on the football field soon.
