‘Faker’ (Lee Sang-hyuk), the legendary mid laner of the world-famous e-sports game ‘League of Legends’, was personally awarded the Blue Dragon Medal, Korea’s highest-ranking sports medal, by President Lee Jae-myung at the Blue House last Friday (January 2).
According to Dispatch, Faker said in his acceptance speech, “I wouldn’t be where I am today without my teammates and colleagues who have walked this path with me. I hope this honor can bring a little joy and pride to everyone who loves esports.”
Faker debuted as a member of SKT (now T1) in 2013. He has won 6 “League of Legends” championships so far in his career, and led T1 to set a record of three consecutive championships in 2023, 2024, and 2025.
