Remco Evenepoel won the Serra de Tramuntana Trophy, third round of the Mallorca Challenge, after a solo 55 km raid on Friday on the Balearic island. Following his success in the team time trial, the Belgian continued his perfect start to the season with his new team Red Bull Bora in this lesser race but which included riders like Enric Mas, Marc Hirschi and Pavel Sivakov at the start.

Attacking 55 km from the goal, the double Belgian Olympic champion first caught the last survivors of the breakaway before rushing towards his 68th victory, at only 26 years old. He won with a 1 min 38 sec lead over a group of three runners settled in a sprint by the Portuguese Antonio Morgado (UAE) ahead of the Italian Christian Scaroni (Astana) and the French Mathys Rondel (Tudor). Evenepoel must end his tour in Mallorca on Saturday during the Andratx-Pollença Trophy.
