European Rugby Cup: Silence for Crans Montana Fire Victims

The Pierre-Fabre stadium will pay tribute to the memory of the victims of the Crans Montana fire. The tragedy killed 40 people and injured 116 individuals in a bar in the Swiss ski resort. To pay tribute to them, the European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR) has announced that it will hold a minute of silence during the Champions Cup matches scheduled for this Friday, January 9.

“The EPCR will observe a minute of silence before tonight’s Investec Champions Cup matches, in tribute to the victims of the fire in Crans-Montana. We send our sincere thoughts and condolences to the families and loved ones affected by this ordeal,” published the organizer of the European Rugby Cups this Friday on its networks.

National day of mourning

Based in Lausanne, the organization wants to unite “with Switzerland to respect the national day of mourning declared today by the President of the Swiss Confederation, Guy Parmelin, following the terrible fire in Crans-Montana during the night of New Year’s Eve,” she said in a press release.

Two meetings will be concerned, one of which will be held in France. Castres Olympique receives Bath at Pierre-Fabre at 9 p.m., while Gloucester will travel to Edinburgh.
