In football ‘bet’ Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, which is conducting its investigation, published a statement regarding the allegations on social media regarding Galatasaray’s football player Eren Elmalı.
Turkish Football Federation (TFF) in November ‘they bet on’ Eren Elmalı and some football players were disciplined for this reason.
Elmalı was sentenced to 45 days of imprisonment.
Today, some allegations were made about Elmalı on social media. It was claimed that Oyun bet on his own match while playing for Kasımpaşa in 2019.
The chief prosecutor’s office issued a statement thereupon, emphasizing that the investigation into the betting investigation was ongoing and that only the chief prosecutor’s office shared reliable information. The explanation is as follows:
“Regarding the posts on social media stating that a football player named Eren Elmalı bet on his own match and that there is documentation regarding this:
It is respectfully announced to the public that, in line with the data obtained by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office from gambling/betting games dealers, the investigation of all professionally licensed football players, regardless of sports club and name, continues, that a meticulous data examination process continues in terms of betting on one’s own match or other suspicious situations, that the judicial process is shaped by the evaluation of the reports prepared/to be prepared as a result of the conclusion of this process, and that reliable information sharing is carried out only by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, since it is a judicial investigation.
