Ella Reidy was born on June 28, 2002 in Lerum just outside Gothenburg. After she began her soccer upbringing at an early age for the parent club Jonsereds IF, she would then move on to Stenkullen GoIK, where she spent large parts of her youth. Ahead of the 2018 season, the then 16-year-old midfielder would sign her first A-team contract when she made the move to Göteborgs DFF, which at the time was in Division 1. The debut would take place on April 14, 2018 in the first round of the league game when she was in the starting eleven and remained on the pitch throughout the match. Barely two months later, the first goal at senior level came when she scored 6-1 in the 56th minute of the match in the home meeting with Rynninge IK. The second goal was not delayed as Ella in the same match, only 20 minutes after her first goal, was back again and rolled the ball into the net. There would be a total of 19 games and six goals during the debut season in Division 1. During the 2019 season, Ella continued to be an important player for Gothenburg’s DFF as she played 21 games from the start with a goal score of twelve goals scored during the season.
Before the 2020 season, Jitex BK announced that they have agreed with Ella on a one-year contract. On June 14 of the same year, she made her debut in Elitettan when Morön BK came to visit Gothenburg. She would then be in the starting eleven in 25 out of 26 matches in Elitettan 2020. On September 13, Ella got to celebrate her first goal in the purple shirt when, in the 59th minute of the match, she reduced the score to 1-3 in the home meeting with BP – a result that stood until the final whistle. After two seasons, 53 games and three goals scored, it was time for the next move.
On December 26, 2021, it was clear that BP agreed with Ella on an agreement. This would mean another jump in the series system as BP were newcomers to the OBOS Damallsvenskan before the 2022 season. The debut in the Stockholm club came against Hammarby IF in the first round of the Swedish Cup’s group stage, where Ella was on the pitch for 75 minutes before she had to make way for Emilia Bengtsson. Just over a month later, Ella would make her debut in the country’s top series. This in the opening match against FC Rosengård away from home – a match which the home team won 2–0.
After 21 matches in BP and the Damallsvenskan, it was time for the next move, this time the move went back to Gothenburg and Jitex BK. In the 2023 season, she started 26 out of 26 games for Jitex BK in Elitettan, where she also accounted for three goals.
On January 7, 2024, it became clear that AIK Football had agreed with the then 21-year-old midfielder on an agreement that runs until and including December 31, 2025. The debut came directly when the competition season began with games in the Swedish Cup group stage 2023/2024. This happened on March 9, 2024 when Kif Örebro came to visit Skytteholms IP. The guests had taken the lead just before kick-off, and Ella, who started the match on the bench, had to make an entrance after the half-time break. With Ella on the field, AIK managed to turn the tables and it was finally a victory in her competitive debut for Gnaget (2–1). Since Ella joined AIK ahead of 2024, she has been a reliable player and so far there have been 59 competitive matches with a score of two goals scored and four assists.
