El Karouani Transfer: Two Clubs Interested | Football News

Souffian El Karouani appears to be leaving FC Utrecht this winter. The left back has been in the interest of various clubs for some time and can count on concrete interest from two teams.

El Karouani is once again a strongman for Utrecht this season with his fantastic kicking technique. The attacking full-back has provided fifteen assists and three goals in all competitions so far.

The Moroccan international’s contract expires after this season, which means El Karouani is on the radar of several European clubs. Last summer, the left foot seemed to be on his way to Spartak Moscow, but Utrecht decided to put a stop to the transfer.

Bayer Leverkusen and Fenerbahçe have now signed up for the full-back, reports Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu. According to Sabuncouglu, El Karouani has put aside the proposal from the Turkish top club and is waiting for other offers.

While the Turks plan to take over El Karouani this winter and have already made an offer to Utrecht, the question is whether Leverkusen will focus on a transfer in the winter or a transfer-free transfer in the summer.

At an earlier stage, FC Porto, Olympique Marseille, West Ham United and Ajax were also mentioned as possible destinations. However, the Amsterdam team is fully committed to the arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko.

El Karouani will play against Utrecht in the Europa League on Thursday evening. The Belgian Racing Genk is the opponent.
