The Spanish soccer team will play a friendly against Egypt on March 30, three days after playing the Finalissima against Argentinaat the Lusail Stadium in Qatar and not at the Ahmed bin Ali stadium, as originally announced.
The scenario, therefore, will be the same as that of March 27 for the Finalissima against Argentina, current champion of the Copa América, the Lusail Stadium, as reported this Monday by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
Although no further details have been given regarding the reasons for the change, Spain-Egypt will be played in the same stadium, with capacity for 80,000 spectatorswhich against Argentina only three days later.
The Lusail Stadium was the venue that hosted the 2022 World Cup final between France and Argentina, with a final victory for the ‘Albiceleste’, which achieved its third star after the 1978 and 1986 titles.
The men’s teams of Spain, the current European champion, and Egypt have only faced each other once. It was on June 3, 2006 at the Martínez Valero stadium in Elche (Alicante). Spain won 2-0, with goals from Raúl González and José Antonio Reyes.
