55 points from Anthony Edwards were not enough for the Minnesota Timberwolves to win the top game against the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA. At 126:123 in Texas, Victor Wembanyama secured the victory for his team with a rebound in the final seconds and scored a strong 39 points himself. Thanks to their success, the Spurs defended third place in the Western Conference ahead of the Timberwolves, who now have 15 defeats in the North American Basketball League.
The Oklahoma City Thunder are at the top of the conference despite their eighth defeat of the season. Without the still injured German Isaiah Hartenstein, the defending champions conceded a 120:122 defeat to the Miami Heat. OKC had two more opportunities to take the lead in the final 31 seconds, but both Chet Holmgren and Alex Caruso missed their three-point attempts.
