Duckworth’s success against Sinner came in the second round of the Masters 1000 of Torontoin August 2021. E it was one of the few moments in his career where you can see Jannik lose his temper. It was the fault of one too many screams from the Australian who, already ahead by a set, and with the eighth game of the second set in the lead, exclaimed a loud “Come on” after a forehand sent to the net by the blue. An episode that was not taken well by the South Tyrolean who, annoyed, he let slip a “What the fuck are you yelling at?” response to the opponent. Verbal clash that stopped there, while on the hard court Duckworth took home the victory, the only one out of three matches against Sinner.
