Dominican Badminton: Support from Minister & Olympic Committee

The FEDOBAD also recognized the contributions of sports institutions such as the Dominican Olympic Committee and several international organizations related to the sport of racket and shuttlecock.


SANTO DOMINGO, RD — The Dominican Badminton Federation (FEDOBAD) expressed its deep gratitude to the Minister of Sports and Recreation, engineer Kelvin Cruz, for the continuous support provided during the year 2025, which allowed most of the scheduled activities to be carried out successfully, contributing to the strengthening and development of that discipline in the country.


Likewise, FEDOBAD, on behalf of its executive committee chaired by Nelson Javier Ozuna, recognized the support of the Dominican Olympic Committee (COD), in the person of its president, engineer Garibaldy Bautista, as well as its general secretary, engineer Luis Chanlatte, highlighting their constant support and commitment to the growth of the national sports movement.

Likewise, the Dominican Badminton Federation valued the support received from international organizations such as Badminton Pan Am and the Badminton World Federation (BWF), whose support has been key to the technical, organizational and competitive development of this discipline in the country.

The executive committee of the Dominican Badminton Federation, as well as all the provincial associations that make up this sport, thanked the Minister of Sports and Recreation, Kelvin Cruz, for his great contributions to that sporting discipline.



The sports organization also thanked the allied institutions that showed continuous support during the year, including New Horizons Academy, represented by Mr. Fauntly Garrido, and the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI), under the direction of journalist Alberto Rodríguez Mella, as well as other entities and collaborators that contributed to the success of the activities carried out.


Finally, FEDOBAD expressed its hope and optimism for the year 2026, trusting that it will be a period of great achievements and successes for Dominican badminton, reaffirming its commitment to continue working with dedication, planning and transparency for the benefit of national sport.
